Winter Comfort in a Cup // Cocoa Recipe

a Creative mess WINTER COMFORT IN A CUP // COCOA RECIPE

This cocoa recipe is a favorite of mine. This one is spicy and will warm you up on a cold day. You could say it is the ultimate warm comfort in a cup for cold winter days.

I originally made this post for the HEMA blog. The HEMA blog relationship ended abruptly… the blog has vanished into thin air and I’ve received not a peep from them. So now I’m republishing my HEMA posts here (adding a winter date so that it will fit well into the archives).

Hot chocolate / cocoa is always a winter treat for us. A simple pleasure and the chili powder gives it a little kick. Cocoa with some sass! You could also make it with chocolate instead of cocoa. I use cocoa because it’s a staple item in our home.

Recipe:

  • 4 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • a pinch of chili powder
  • a drop of vanilla extract

Directions:

Heat the milk and slowly add the other ingredients, stirring slowly and constantly until it’s at the right temperature. Take care not to boil it!

Enjoy =) and let me know what you think of adding the chili powder to the cocoa!
