As you plan to expand your influence and grow your blog, you may be rethinking your website/blog design. Does it speak to who you are? Does it connect with your audience? Is it beautiful and purposeful?

To increase your influence you’ll need imagery for creating the visual identity for your brand or platform. Readers will identify you with your brand visuals.

If you are a photographer and or an enthusiast like me then maybe you can create your own photography library. If you’re a pro, then this post isn’t for you. For most of us I recommend hiring a professional for custom work or find a designer online that sells bundles of premade design assets.

Brand visuals are so essential for your identity. There are many platforms that offer stock photography and template mockups —for beginning bloggers, I always recommend premade visual design solutions. Often bloggers have not completed the brand strategy and research that most business owners have. Thus, a premade design solution is the best approach for beta testing their idea. Visual design elements and brand assets include your logo, business cards, media kit, brand templates and imagery. I recommend Creative Market, and since this past year they have an entire section dedicated to social media templates.

Some of the advantages for using premade designs and templates:

  • you may not have the budget for custom made visuals
  • you may still be orientating and discovering your signature style
  • so many ideas and not enough time —templates are often easy to customize and aren’t terribly expensive (also they are easy to edit with ex. Photoshop)

If you don’t know how to edit the templates you’ve found on for example Creative Market, I can help you. I prefer to work with .psd files! Contact me for help (FREE).

Don’t have the budget for stock photography? Then there are some decent places to find quality stock photography for free —completely free to use for all end products. I wrote about my faves here.

Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to share your opinions and views on using premade / stock design work in the comments section. Also if you are needing assistance with WordPress or editing images or templates feel free to ask. If it’s within my capacity I’ll help you out for free.
